Dhilla Isthiari oversees Trendier AI’s data business across Southeast Asia. She has previously been invited as a speaker at the K-Beauty Trend Summit, where she shared insights connecting Seoul, Bangkok, and Jakarta under the theme of cross-market innovation at the intersection of AI, beauty, and global markets.
K-Beauty’s Global Rise Is Powered by Data
K-beauty’s rapid ascent on the global stage is not driven by “good products” alone. Behind its success lies a powerful capability: the ability to move faster and innovate more effectively through data.
From January to April 2025, Korea’s cosmetics exports reached USD 3.61 billion (approximately KRW 5.54 trillion), marking a 28% year-on-year increase and propelling Korea past the United States to become the world’s second-largest cosmetics exporter. In response, global retailers are rapidly expanding their K-beauty assortments, a trend that is even more pronounced across online platforms. From Japan to the United States, Korean brands now dominate the top ranks across key beauty categories.
At the center of this success are data and AI. Today, AI enables the analysis of millions of ingredient-efficacy combinations in a single day, processes hundreds of thousands of consumer reviews in real time, and instantly detects unmet consumer needs and emerging market shifts. AI can also learn from competitors’ marketing campaigns to generate new strategic proposals in hours—tasks that once took weeks.
AI-powered trend discovery allows K-beauty to respond to global markets with unprecedented speed and efficiency. Beyond reacting to short-term trends, the next stage lies in discovering the future together with AI.
The Next Beauty Trends Led by K-Beauty
Trendier AI tracks millions of data points across global platforms, including sales, reviews, search trends, and social engagement. This analysis goes beyond surface-level fads to capture the underlying signals that drive consumer demand and product innovation.
Among the seven trends identified, two stand out in particular:
Korea Glow-Up, Evolving Through Innovation
Across major global channels, products featuring PDRN are rapidly climbing the rankings, accompanied by sharp increases in review volume. However, the data tells a clearer story: PDRN is not the entire narrative. Other medical-origin active ingredients are also quietly gaining momentum, and global consumers are beginning to perceive Korean skincare not merely as “beauty,” but as a symbol of innovation.
On TikTok, the phrase “K-Beauty Is Living in 2050” has emerged as a defining trend, reflecting the perception that Korean cosmetics represent future-forward innovation ahead of its time.
This leads to a key question: Which active ingredients—and which approaches—will enable K-beauty to lead the next wave of innovation?
Joyful Beauty
Where does K-beauty’s viral power come from?
Global consumers are no longer satisfied with clinical efficacy alone. They are drawn to the joy of textures and packaging that can be seen, felt, and shared. From jelly-like serums and slime-inspired cleansers to highly collectible packaging, K-beauty awakens the senses and spreads emotion—turning enjoyment into instant virality.
Review data shows that “texture” and “after-feel” are rapidly rising keywords. Consumers are no longer just using products; they are sharing the experience on social media, driving engagement and amplification. Engagement fuels virality, and virality drives global sales.
Formulation has now evolved beyond usability—it has become the spark that ignites participation and viral momentum.
So what will be the next texture that captures our senses?

Where Data Meets the Future of Beauty
What makes these insights meaningful is not merely the scale of the data, but how it is interpreted. AI-powered systems track millions of signals—search trends, consumer reviews, product rankings, and social buzz—and convert them into clear, actionable forecasts that brands can immediately execute.
From November 4 to 6 in Bangkok, Dhilla Isthiari will present at in-cosmetics Asia 2025, showcasing how Trendier AI’s AI-driven analysis is transforming trend discovery in the beauty industry.
The session will introduce three newly identified trends, grounded in real data, alongside four major trends already reshaping K-beauty. Case examples of AI-generated trend reports will also be shared. Trendier AI currently publishes over 100 trend reports per month and offers functionality that enables users to generate customized insights with a single click.
Participants will gain firsthand insight into how data-driven analysis can be practically applied to product development and market strategy decision-making.
